Somatic therapy offers a body-centred, unshaming space to explore your experience at the pace of your own body.

In our work together, we’ll bring awareness to what’s alive in your experience as you hold the intentions you have for yourself and your life.

We’ll meet what arises, that which may have have been shaped by your personal, historical, and systemic experiences. Not by analysing them (I’m sure you’ve done plenty of that already), but by noticing how it’s showing up in your body now.

From here, integration, healing and reconnection to your innate wisdom can unfold organically. This is a space for curiosity and co-creation, where every part of you is welcome.

  • I’m trained in Focalizing, a gentle (and powerful) trauma informed somatic approach to healing. The word somatic means ‘relating to the body’. In Focalizing we work in an un-shaming way with your whole experience (not only the thinking mind), exploring your experience in your body, mind and spirit to create a deeper, more trusting relationship with yourself and life. Working through ‘blocks’ and metabolising trauma at your own pace, so that you can live with more embodied presence and move towards your intentions. Weaving somatic therapy with menstrual cycle awareness can be a deeply profound exploration that is often described as what feels like the ‘missing piece’ for people who menstruate.

  • Trauma doesn’t just live in our minds, it lives in our bodies too. When we experience something overwhelming without the resource to process it, these become memories that our nervous system holds. Focalizing offers a way to metabolise those experiences in the body, using somatic exploration to help you to resolve trauma and reclaim your body’s innate wisdom. Put simply, the body holds our trauma and the body holds the key to our recovery too.

    • Every session is a different, non-linear, co-creative experience. We will always follow your body’s lead, tailoring the sessions to you in the present moment and meeting you where you are. Here is an outline of a typical session:

    • Each session is 60 minutes long on zoom and I will hold the time.

    • We often start with a check in and intention- You come with something that you would like support with, that you want to explore more deeply. Don’t worry if the intention isn’t completely clear we can delve into that together.

    • There will be space for cycle mentoring or questions (optional)- you can bring any questions or observations about your menstrual cycle experience to session if you wish to. We can also continue this exploration with support via Signal (messaging platform) or email outside of sessions.

    • There will be a somatic exploration, where you can gain insight from your own innate body intelligence. This may show up in the form of sensation in your body, imagery/ visions, movement, sound, memories, words, and more. Every experience is different and there is no right or wrong.

    • We will resource- this is the foundation of somatic healing and we will always orient back towards safety through resource throughout the session. If we are new to working together this is where we will start in order to build capacity and get to know your unique resources.

    • Everything’s an invitation- I will support and help guide you but you are in the driving seat at all times and I remind you regularly that everything is a choice to which you can say no.

    • There will be soulful integration. In other words we get to have a heartfelt conversation at the end of the session, where you can share anything from your experience that wants to be heard.

    • You will receive a follow up email or signal message. The content of this will depend upon the nature of our work together and will be tailored to you. It may include reflections, a practice or any resources discussed in session.

  • A connection call if a free 45 minute video call for us to meet, have a chat about your intention for our potential work together, and for us to see if we will be a good fit. I can answer any questions you are holding and you will get a feel for the way that we would work together. There will never be any pressure or obligation to go on to work with me from this.     In our work together I’ll offer invitations and gentle inquiries to support you to connect in with your own innate wisdom. Together co-creating an experience as unique as you are.

  • Body based

    By listening into the subtle cues of your inner world, we follow your body’s lead and innate intelligence. Approaching your experience in a way that honors your whole experience exactly as it is.

  • Honouring

    I believe it’s important to honour the fullness of who you are. That your identity, your spiritual beliefs and your unique expressions are deeply respected within our work together.

  • Trauma Informed

    I’m trained in Focalizing, a trauma informed somatic healing approach. We move at your bodies pace, creating Islands of safety along the way. All the whilst not bypassing the systemic factors so often at the root of trauma and ‘un-wellness’.

  • Cycle Aware

    Healing isn’t linear, and for those of us with menstrual cycles we have a living map within that helps us to embody this knowing. If you feel called, I’ll help you to establish a cycle practice to support you to live in a more aligned and resourced way.

  • Un-Shaming

    Together, we work towards un-shaming your experience. Dismantling the narrative that there is something ‘wrong’ with you, or needing fixing, towards one of embodied self compassion and remembering of your inherent wholeness.

Working with me may be for you if you;

  • You feel disconnected from your body or struggle to sense what’s happening inside. Maybe you’ve learned to override your body’s signals, and you want support in relearning your body’s language.

  • Your emotions feel overwhelming, unsafe, or exhausting. You want to meet your feelings little by little, with curiosity and compassion.

  • Shame, self-criticism, or the sense that something is 'wrong' with you shows up often. You want to un-shame your experience and reclaim your innate worth.

  • Your inner critic is loud and persistent, putting you down. You want to discern between this internalised voice and the honest feedback that is truly yours.

  • You notice patterns from past, historical, or systemic experiences showing up in your life now, in your body, relationships, or work and want to explore this somatically.

  • You’ve tried other healing approaches, but something still feels missing. You want to explore your experience deeply, including parts often left out, like your cyclical rhythms and embodied wisdom.

  • You’re curious about your menstrual cycle or cyclical patterns but feel lost, disconnected, or overwhelmed by PMDD. You want to reconnect to your natural rhythms and live in a more aligned way.

  • You long for more intimacy with yourself, your relationships, and life itself. You want a safe, unshaming space to explore your experiences so that you can show up authentically.

  • You hold values that conflict with collective liberation. This space is grounded in an anti-oppressive, trauma informed approach that recognises how systems of oppression, including occupation, colonial violence, and structural inequality, can shape folks bodies and lives.

  • You’re seeking a ‘quick fix’ or one big cathartic experience. I get it, I’ve been there, and it’s so understandable to want instant relief. But I want to be transparent; I believe true healing happens when we move at the body’s pace as an unfolding process and that the slow way really is the fast way.

  • You’re looking for someone to ‘heal’ you. I am not a healer. I offer a space of relationship, support, and gentle guidance, helping you reconnect with your own body’s language and wisdom. I’m here to support you as you rediscover your innate wisdom for yourself.

  • You’re seeking psychotherapy or counselling. While I’m deeply committed to emotional and somatic healing, I’m not trained as a psychotherapist or counselor. My work focuses on trauma informed body-based healing and somatic exploration, which can complement talk therapy, but is different.

  • You’re looking for a health coach, herbalist, or nutritionist. My focus is on your embodied emotional and spiritual experience. While physical health symptoms can be explored somatically in our work together, addressing them as the primary focus is not within my area of expertise.

  • Not at all, I work with women, femmes, and people who menstruate. I understand that not all women have menstrual cycles and not all people with menstrual cycles are women. If you wish to develop a cycle awareness practice and do not have a menstrual cycle, you can track with the moon and develop a relationship with the many other cycles that live within us, and that we live within. Ultimately it’s about getting to know yourself, your experience of being human and your body’s language more deeply. Embodiment and cyclical living is for everybody, so if you do not have a menstrual cycle but feel called to work with me, please do reach out.

  • Yes, within a monthly subscription I will always try to accommodate extra sessions at an additional rate of £65 per session.

  • It’s recommended for us to work together over at least 3 months/ a few cycles for us to form a trusting relationship and discover more about your experience. This also allows time for you to develop a cycle awareness practice, for us to learn about your nervous system and start to create sustainable shifts in your experience. However, you are not ‘locked in’ during this time and can pause or stop your subscription prior to 3 months should you wish.
